La Bergerie de Planpraz: an authentic restaurant full of character.
It has been open for 20 years now and has a sterling reputation amongst the local Chamonix community. Thanks to its south-facing location, you can enjoy a sunny terrace with the most breath-taking view of the Mont Blanc massif of the entire valley.
This summer, our head chef will be cooking up some delicious dishes, including wood-fire barbecues (“herdshire” ribeye steak served with beurre maitre d’hôtel, citrus-crusted rack of lamb, iberian pork pluma), local cuisine (“Bergerie” toast topped with morel mushrooms, Val d’Arly dessert and blueberry tart), as well as some more traditional options (knife-carved beef tartare, creamy asparagus “Arborio” risotto, salmon, ricotta and spinach lasagna, etc...).

You can enjoy fresh, local products even at altitude!
The title of Maître Restaurateur reward restaurants that work fresh and supplies from local producers.
In fact this title was created in 2007 to promote traditional French cuisine and distinguish "excellence" of catering professionals.
It is awarded by the prefect of the Haute-Savoie on the findings of audit reports carried out by certification bodies. The restorer who obtained this title meets very strict quality standards and criteria must be scrupulously respected, as including: the obligation to cook on site, the exclusive purchase of certain products from artisans or independent SMEs The non-use of prepared dishes, the obligation to work with products acquired majority fees, diversification of food on offer (at least four dishes starter, main courses and desserts), and at least, a daily suggestion for starters, mains and desserts.

In 2001, after his business studies, she left her hometown: Segre (Maine-et-Loire) to work in Chamonix. It is formed on the ground between the Montenvers Plan Joran, Charamillon, Flégère and Lognan to take the direction of La Bergerie in 2013. Franck Demonsais, Head Chef
Originally from La Baule (Loire Atlantique), this mountain lovers could not asked for a better living environment. After studying hotel (Saint Nazaire), and its business graduate (Blagnac), David worked in 8 different Cafeteria Casino Bordeaux to Montpellier and Montauban in Tarbes, but also in a variety of restaurants from traditional to gastronomic in La Baule (Royal, Majestic, Castel Marie Louise ...).
He came in register in Chamonix for a season, and quickly brought his whole family. His heart stroke is the "ability to work at high altitude panorama crazy face" as he says himself. This perfectionist seeks to offer a quality service, with humor and good humor.
Sandra, Room Manager
A native of Maureillas in Languedoc Roussillon, her profession, she has learned in the field. After 10 years of experience near Céret towards Perpignan and the Pyrenees, she wanted to see higher and larger and now she comes in Chamonix!
Passionate about her profession, she likes this little stress beginning of each service it starts so that everything is "on top". It calls itself privileged and claims to have an incredible opportunity to work opposite Mont Blanc in a "just wonderful" environment, as she says herself. Featuring a large, interpersonal skills, she takes pleasure in discovering the restaurant to new customers and especially to see them again.

It's possible ! The Planpraz Sheepfold allows to live the privileged experience of dinner in a mountain chalet facing one of the best views in the world. La Bergerie also hosts weddings: ceremonies terrace facing Mont Blanc, wine reception and dinner in a typical mountain chalet in wood and stone.

Located under the Bergerie de Planpraz restaurant, the Comptoir de Planpraz takeaway provides guests with a quick stopover for a home-made lunch.
To eat in or take away: baguette sandwiches (rosette, brie, ham etc...) and hot dishes to take away such as our burger with Raclette cheese and bacon, soup, savoury pie (ham, Reblochon cheese and green salad), Savoy Diots (sausages) and fries, crêpes etc...
Open daily from mid-December until mid-April and from mid-June until mid-September according to the ski lifts operating times from 09:00 to 14:00.
